Initial EMS Education Lead Faculty

Southwest EMS Academy is currently looking for an experienced EMS educator to join our online EMS Initial Education Program. At Southwest EMS Academy, we strive to provide a premiere educational experience for students across the country. Our blended program provides both online education as well as hands on, in person skills sessions.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to take a new age approach to EMS education and the ability to deliver that education to our students. This candidate will work from our Texas campus on a daily basis, collaborating with our support staff in developing and delivering this education. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain education content as required for all levels of EMS education.
  • Deliver virtual instructor-led training (VILT) content in our online classroom environment.
  • Participate in the creation of the training and education schedules.
  • Respond to and resolve education issues encountered by students participating in EMS education.
  • Assist with teaching BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses as needed.
  • Prepare and coordinate skills training specific to EMS Training.
  • Participate and assist with end of course testing of EMS Students
  • Assist in recruitment activities and events.
  • Maintain all credentials required by the job.
  • Maintain course completion records for all courses delivered.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • National and State certified paramedic. Experience functioning as a paramedic.
    •  A minimum of 5 years is preferred
  • Associate Degree preferred
  • Instructor certification by TDSHS.
  • Typing skills, basic Microsoft Office program skills
  • Familiar with Fisdap and Navigate Platforms
  • Use of basic Microsoft Office program, math, medical terminology, test preparation, curriculum development, operation of all medical equipment specified by TDSHS.
  • Ability to evaluate medical performance in class and on actual emergencies.
