About Us

Southwest EMS Academy was created by the team behind CE Solutions. After 20+ years in the continuing education world CE Solutions teamed up with Lealand Raiford to begin the journey of providing high quality initial EMS education in an Hybrid format.

Lealand spent his entire career in the Fire and EMS industry providing education for those in the field. Lealand left the Burnet Fire Department to join the CE Solutions/SWEMSA team as Director of Education.

Our goal at SWEMSA is to bring initial EMS education to the modern day consumer in a delivery method that makes sense for all. The hybrid format isn’t new to education, but we think we are raising the bar of EMS education. From our beautiful campus in the Texas Hill Country we welcome you to a new age of EMS training that is available any time from any location.

Alexandra Rowe

Initial Education Coordinator

Being the granddaughter of a Fire Chief growing up was no easy task. As soon as she could walk, she was used as a patient when her Grandfather would teach EMS Courses. It was inevitable that she would follow in his footsteps and become a Paramedic. She first became certified in EMS in 2011, immediately working for a busy EMS service. Ever since, she has been heavily involved in all areas of EMS. She has a strong background in legal aspects of EMS, National Registry requirements, and EMS Education. She loves being able to teach and bring her experiences to the table. She finds it gratifying to get more people involved in EMS, especially the younger generation.

After serving as an EMS Director for a small rural EMS service, she made a career change to teach full time for CE Solutions. Outside of work, she spends most of her time traveling to new places with her husband and two sons.

James Schuetz

After completion of Paramedic school he started to work for the City of Burnet were his career continues part time still today.

James was a full time  member of the department for 10 years and left holding the rank of Step Up Captain before coming to work for CE Solutions and SWEMSA. James loves to teach and see different ways services work in the EMS world. James spends his free time teaching life and fire safety to the youth in his community. James was the first fire safety clown in his fire district and loves using that skill when he can.
